1. Think in pairs, not single weeks
Every club gives you exactly two picks: one home, one away. That means you have 40 picks available (20 clubs × 2) for 38 gameweeks — only two spare. Treat each club's home pick and away pick as separate resources and ask "is this the best week to spend this one?" rather than "who's most likely to win this week?".
2. Home picks are your safest currency
Home advantage is real, and it's built into how results are modelled. A strong club at home to a weak one is the safest pick in the game. Use the top clubs' home picks on their easiest home fixtures, and be choosier with their away picks — an away trip to a mid-table side is far riskier than it looks.
3. Don't burn the giants early
It's tempting to use the strongest clubs in the first few weeks to build momentum. The problem comes later: around gameweek 25–35 you'll face weeks where every remaining option is a coin flip. Keeping a couple of strong home picks in reserve for that stretch is often what keeps a run alive.
4. Find value in the middle of the table
Mid-table clubs at home to the bottom three are underrated picks. They let you bank a likely win without spending a premium club. The weakest clubs still have to be used somewhere too — look for their home games against other struggling sides, where a draw is likely and a defeat less so.
5. Read the form strip
Each club shows its recent results. Form isn't everything — strength matters more — but a side on a losing run away from home is one to avoid, and a strong side that has drawn a few in a row is still usually a good bet at home.
6. Remember a draw keeps you alive
In the Daily Challenge your run only ends on a defeat. A draw is worth one point and the run continues. So in a tricky week, the pick that is least likely to lose is better than the one most likely to win big — often a solid home side against an evenly matched opponent.
7. Watch for greyed-out picks
If a club is greyed out with a warning, choosing it would leave you with no valid pick later in the season. When you see several options disappear at once, that's a sign your remaining picks are getting tight — slow down and plan the next few weeks together.
8. Use the AI advisor as a second opinion
On the pick screen you can ask the advisor for a suggestion. It only recommends clubs you're allowed to pick and gives a short reason. It's a sounding board, not a guarantee — the best players combine it with their own plan for the weeks ahead.
